The Mycetoma Campaign

The Mycetoma National Campaign will provide an opportunity for policymakers, implementers, researchers, funders, and community groups who work on mycetoma and NTDs to come together and deliberate, share best practices, decide on how to tackle these diseases, and, furthermore, to stay connected.
The Campaign features a wide range of medical and non-medical activities throughout the different working satellites. Participants will be inspired, challenged, learn new skills, gain new contacts and find ways to improve the Mycetoma patient’s quality of life.

The crowds flocked, and led by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Industry, the Ambassador of Japan in Khartoum, The Vice-Chancellors of the University of Khartoum, The National Rabid, Sudan University for Science and Technology and Sudan International Universities, the President of the African Universities Association, Delegates of the French and Qatari embassies in Sudan, The Director and Deputy Director of Soba University Hospital, Medical and Health Faculties Deans, University professors, researchers, Qatar Charity Country, Association for Aid and Relief, Japan, MSF Belgium, Sudan Directors, the Mycetoma Ambassadors, Samil Industrial Company Director, the Federation of Industries Chamber President, media professionals and guests had witnessed the Mycetoma Vocational Training and Entrepreneurship Center ‘SAAI’D’ inauguration of on Tuesday 24th August 2021.
Director-General of WHO calls for more Mycetoma research during visit to Mycetoma Research Centre
The Director-General of the World Health Organization, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, on Sunday 24 October 2018 had visited the Mycetoma Research Centre in Khartoum (Sudan), WHO Collaborating Centre on Mycetoma where he pledged to support initiatives that produce better diagnostics and medicines for this goal.
The Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training Centre (SAA’ID)
It is a hub for vocational training, business development, and entertainment, located at the Mycetoma Research Centre, University of Khartoum, Khartoum, Sudan
SAA'ID Entrepreneurship and Innovation Competition
The Mycetoma Research Center, recently was granted the Dioraphte Foundation Grant on Skin Neglected Tropical Diseases for a project entitled: The development of a point-of-care diagnostic test for mycetoma in Africa.
